- Ensuring all safety requirements are met accordingly.
Our courses work around you
Our courses work around your current circumstances and may be easier than you might originally think. We have a success rate of over 10,000 people becoming qualified each year! We provide all the knowledge, expertise and guidance you need to succeed.
When you train to be a gas engineer with this course, you will be demonstrating gas safety competence by completing nationally agreed assessments. These assessments are carried out at our ACS-approved assessment centres, assessed by our fully qualified tutors, handpicked for their experience in the gas engineering industry, and professionalism.
With any skilled trade, gas engineers go through a rigorous training process before they can work legally. This can feel daunting when first thinking about starting, but if you start your training today, you could be fully qualified and ready to work in as little as 25 weeks! This is due to The Skills Centre having all the resources and qualification training you need, as well as removing the need to obtain any apprenticeships, reducing your qualification time by around 30%.
What qualifications do I need and what will I obtain from the course?
The two main qualifications required are to be Gas Safe registered and receive your ACS in Gas.
Without these two certifications, you will not be able to work legally as a gas engineer in the United Kingdom, no matter how much training you have.
Having an ACS certification shows that you have been fully assessed on competence and professionalism when working with the gas appliances for which you are qualified.
You will need to retake ACS training in Gas every twelve months as this is compulsory to maintain that qualification. With your ACS qualifications, you will be able to become Gas Safe registered, and many people use this annual ACS training to build upon their already acquired skills and even learn new ones.
The full range of qualifications received from our gas engineering course are:
- BPEC – Energy Efficiency (Part L)
- ACS – Core Gas Safety
- ACS – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
- ACS – Cookers and Hobs
- ACS – Space Heaters – Fires
- ACS – Flue Gas Analysers
- BPEC – Part P Defined Scope Electrical Qualification
What happens once I’m qualified?
Once qualified, you will be able to:
- Work as a gas engineer running your own business or working for a company.
- Work on domestic properties.
- Work on new buildings.
- Work on servicing, installing, and maintaining domestic gas appliances.
- Install and maintain appliances for landlords and tenants.
- Provide an emergency call-out service.
