Your Plastering Training Begins

This is a competence-based qualification. This means you won’t be sitting in a traditional classroom or taking online exams. Instead, your skills are measured by how you perform your job in the real world.

Real-World Assessment

The assessment takes place directly in your work environment. You demonstrate your skills under real working conditions, ensuring that your qualification reflects the actual standards of the construction industry.

To achieve your qualification, you will create a Portfolio of Evidence. This is a collection of documents and records that prove you have met all the required learning outcomes.

What counts as evidence?

  • Assessor Observations: A qualified assessor watches you work and records your performance.

  • Professional Discussions: Conversations where you explain your methods and technical knowledge.

  • Witness Testimonies: Written confirmation from supervisors or colleagues.

  • Work Products: Examples of your work, such as photos, reports, or completed worksheets.

  • Oral and Written Questioning: Verifying your understanding of specific tasks.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Credit for skills you have already mastered in the past.

Your performance is measured against specific Learning Outcomes (what you need to know) and Assessment Criteria (the standards you must meet).
