With the constant rise in electricity use to power the world, the rise of electric cars (and everything that comes with them such as charging points and carports, and renewable energy sources overtaking fossil fuels, there couldn’t be a better time to become an electrician! You could soon be earning a great income and enjoying life as a qualified electrician. Qualified electricians earn an average of £31,000 per year, which can increase to £60,000+ as you gain more experience in the industry.

Our courses work around your current circumstances – held on weekends for maximum flexibility – making it easy for you to study for a new career as a tradesperson. We have a success rate of over 10,000 people becoming qualified each year and provide all the knowledge, expertise, and guidance you need to succeed, including support to obtain your ECS card for industry recognition.

There are 2 courses for you to choose from, both of which have all the material and guidance you need to finish with recognised qualifications. Learning with us is also a great stepping stone to starting your own business, which many of our students go on to doing with great success. You’ll be learning from home and in our state-of-the-art sites to complete your NVQ level 3 qualification.

New Option: City & Guilds Level 3 Technical Diploma (2366-03)

We now offer the City & Guilds Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry in Electrical Installations Diploma (2366-03). This is for adults 19+ who want to build core knowledge and skills for an electrical career. No prior employment needed.

It covers:

  • Unit 301: Scientific principles
  • Unit 302: Inspection, testing and commissioning
  • Unit 303: Fault finding and diagnosis
  • Unit 304: Electrical design practices
  • Unit 305: Organising and overseeing electrical work
  • Unit 306: BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (2018/2022)

Assessment is via online multiple-choice tests, a practical assignment, and a design assignment. It helps you progress toward apprenticeships, NVQ Level 3, or electrician roles.

Work Placements Available

Work Placements are available during the course to help you gain valuable real-world experience in a professional environment. These placements are arranged to complement your training and support your pathway to qualification and employment.

  • This is not a government funded course
  • This is not an apprenticeship

Whether you’re currently employed or not, we have flexible payment options available to suit your situation. While we do not offer any government funding or financial aid, our priority is making our programs accessible.

  • City & Guilds 2392 – Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry Diploma (2366-03) – Entry-level technical route with no employment required
Professional Electrician
  • Part P Defined Scope
  • City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations
  • Part P Full Scope
  • 2391-52 Level 3 Award in inspection and testing
  • City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Building, Structures)
  • City & Guilds 2392 – Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Assessment

Please note that all examinations and assessments are conducted by an accredited external organisation and all BPEC qualifications are delivered through BPEC approved training centres

When Qualified you will be ready for...

  • Work as a fully qualified electrician running your own business or working for a firm.
  • Carry out periodic inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Install systems and equipment in homes and commercial properties.
  • Installing air-conditioning units
  • Install cabling, fit electrical equipment and test circuits in home environments.
  • Work on commercial maintenance contracts, perhaps for hotels, restaurants and offices etc.
