Your Carpenter Training Begins

This is a competence-based qualification. This means you will not be sitting in a traditional classroom or taking online exams; instead, your skills are measured by how you perform your job in the real world.

Real-World Assessment

The assessment takes place directly in your work environment. You demonstrate your skills under real working conditions, ensuring that your qualification reflects actual industry standards.

To achieve your qualification, you are required to produce evidence that demonstrates you have met all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

What counts as evidence?

  • Portfolio of Evidence: A comprehensive collection of your work records.

  • Assessor Observations: A qualified assessor watches you work and records your performance.

  • Worksheets & Reports: Records of specific assignments, projects, or daily work tasks.

  • Professional Questioning: Records of oral and written questions to verify your understanding of tasks.

Your performance is measured against specific Learning Outcomes, which set out exactly what you are expected to know, understand, or be able to do. Assessment Criteria then specify the precise standard you must meet to prove that each learning outcome has been achieved.
