We don’t know anyone who has the luxury of having a welding station at home, in their basement or garage, so how can you learn welding from the comfort of your own home? Let’s break it down for you.
Home Learning
Here at Skills Centre, we start our student’s training from home via a mix of bespoke manuals and our unique virtual reality learning software. This software simulates a range of jobs for the trade you are training for, in this case, that is welding, and allows you to choose the right welding tools and equipment for the right job, and see the results carried out in a virtual environment.
The training program runs through all the essential basics of welding and gives you something that learning from manuals cannot, interactive, visual learning, and processes put into action. While completing welding training via a computer is not all you need to become a fully qualified welder, it is a great introduction to the trade and helps to get you prepared for your future hands-on learning at one of our nationwide training centres.
Tutor Assessment
Throughout your at-home training, your progress will be assessed by one of our tutors. These tutors are handpicked by us for their professionalism, dedication, and experience in the trade sector. Hear from one of our students below about how they found online learning when studying to become a fully qualified gas engineer.
Despite having your work assessed, you don’t have to worry about hitting a specific deadline for this at-home learning. We work around your day-to-day life, allowing you to study at your own pace and take in all the information. Once you are finished and your progress has been assessed and approved, you will then be invited to one of our training centres to put those skills into practice.
